Holes on the walls , they don't change the sheets when a customer leaves or bother to take them out of the room... The only positive thing is that has a roof and air con ... The rest , terrible... Wouldn't come here again even if it's free .. If you are passing through this town I would say a roadhouse has better bathrooms !! Don't waste your money or time here ... It's not worth it even for one night. After posting these the woman working at the hostel called the other hostel so they don't give us accomodation that night. That's the kind of people that works there , the one that don't like the truth to be told ..... Never coming again to Katherine ...
The location is great, close to the shops and main street. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, which made the stay bearable. The pool was also refreshing on a hot day.Unfortunately the room felt old and unmaintained. The lockers appeared bent and broken, the fridge didn't work, and the aircon and fans were pretty noisy. The other guests also made us feel a bit uneasy - we discovered in the morning that one had attempted to break into our van, and was later arrested for disorderly conduct.Coco's Backpackers is a reasonable (if not a little old) alternative for those on a budget. Otherwise spend a little more for a cabin at Riverview Tourist Park, which, while slightly further from town was far nicer and close to the great Hot Springs.
